The Colon & Your Health
The colon is the most neglected part of the body and this as a result is a major factor in the cause of wide spread, degenerative diseases in modern civilisation. We are exposed to several factors in everyday life that contribute towards ill health, a few of these are: a lack of sleep and exercise, increasing levels of stress, chemicals, drugs and an increase in the consumption of processed foods full of additives.
In the treatment of every chronic disease, the colon must be considered. The average colon in civilised communities is in a desperately deprived condition. Over time, the colon will lose the ability to process vital nutrients, absorb water and to eliminate faecal matter from the body, a condition commonly known as "constipation".
Constipation is commonly identified as a condition where the faecal matter is so tightly packed together, that bowel movements are infrequent, with much difficulty and straining. So many humans today are constipated without even recognising the condition. Old hardened faeces stick to the walls of the colon. The passage through which the faeces are forced to travel is much reduced so that stools become narrow in diameter. In this society, bowel movements of the chronically constipated may be looked upon as normal stool! Even though health experts agree that if one isn't having 2 or 3 healthy bowel movements a day, then by definition one should consider oneself constipated.
Most people have no any idea how much old, hardened, faecal matter is lodged within their colons. Many experts now believe that the average person has 5 to 20 pounds of accumulated waste matter in their colon. While not a weight loss procedure, it is interesting to note that many people who complete a series of colon hydrotherapy sessions report significant weight losses.
To have a body that functions healthily, our immune system should be strong enough to fight and eliminate disease. A typical colon may be burdened with putrefying food, bacteria, viruses, indigestible chemicals, and encrusted pockets of fermented waste (faeces). Evacuating a stool only once a day can result in the reabsorption of 85% of bowel toxins! As a result, the colon may become saturated with harmful toxins, which can lead to a process called 'autointoxication'. In severe cases, toxic substances can be transported into the bloodstream where the lymphatic, circulatory systems, lungs and kidneys, can over time become overburdened. Inevitably, these systems find it hard to cope with the toxic overload and the body is exposed to serious illness and disease.
Colon toxicity can be the underlying cause of many of these commonly reported health problems:
• Bloated Stomach |
• Candida |
• Constipation |
• Poor Circulation |
• Excess Weight Gain |
• Colitis |
• Skin Problems |
• Nausea |
• Allergies |

The above general conditions all respond positively to Colon Hydrotherapy. |
